For Patson Massey, who grew up watching her mother cook for a family of seven and his older brother became a chef, cooking seemed to be in his genes. Patson trained as a professional chef in New Delhi, India, before moving to Toronto, where he honed his skills for a decade. In 2005 he and his wife Anisha moved to London, where they opened Massey’s Fine Indian Cuisine, and have since been serving food that borders the line between art and food. Chef Patson’s training is evident throughout the restaurant - he personally grinds and mixes spices each morning to create his masala and curries, each batch slightly different and completely unique from day-to-day. Emphasizing traditional ingredients, preparation and recipes that have existed in Northern India for centuries, Massey’s strives to give guests a true representation of what dining in India would actually be like.
